Quick Preview: Crunch Time for Qualifying

With at-large chances all but out the window for the Penn State Nittany Lions, their focus now turns to making it to the Big Ten Tournament. As for the Maryland Terrapins, they’ll need to win more than half of their remaining conference games to stay in the hunt.

Staying Patient at the Plate

The Terrapins have been one of the best in the country when it comes to plate discipline, ranking 10th in Division I in walks this season with 269. Third baseman Brayden Martin has been issued the free pass more than anyone on the Maryland roster this season with 46 walks. (Source: University of Maryland Athletics)

No Power, No Problem

The severe weather in State College knocked out electricity and other functions in downtown apartments and homes on Tuesday, but rolling into Wednesday the Nittany Lions’ baseball team was lights out in the 14-4 win over Rider. The power bats were on display as the Penn State offense crushed two home runs thanks to third baseman Bryce Molinaro and shortstop Ryan Weingartner. (Source: The Daily Collegian)
